Ann and I continue our discovery of dimensional glass combining Bullseye Color Line Paints and frit in multiple layers. We have learned that repeated high fires of the paints does compromise the integrity of the color, so we are using 2 coats of separately fired paints with one large full fusing in order to reduce the number of high temp exposures.
The piece on the lower right is a final piece, with the lower left and upper pieces using the above method. Now for the final frit application to create the final dimension. If this last fire is successful, I feel reasonably confident that we have come up with the right formula in crafting our product.
Welcome to the blog! I am the artist and gallery owner, Diane Quarles. I will post day-to-day outcomes and events here so you can see what is going on in the studio this month.
